Hotelovia developer platform#
The Hotelovia developer platform gives server-side applications and AI agents a bounded way to query published places to stay: hotels, guesthouses, hostels, rural houses, apartments, holiday homes, campsites, bed and breakfasts, resorts and motorhome areas. The live directory currently covers Spain, the United Kingdom, France and Portugal. France and Portugal have partial initial coverage around twenty major cities and nearby lodging. Category coverage varies by country; use the category returned for each listing.
Choose an integration#
| Interface | Best for | Endpoint |
|---|---|---|
| REST API | Backends, data pipelines, and CRM jobs | https://www.hotelovia.com/api/v1 |
| MCP | AI clients and agent workflows | https://mcp.hotelovia.com/mcp |
Both interfaces use the same Hotelovia API key and expose read-only directory data. Start with the API quickstart or connect an MCP client.
Get an API key#
- Open the Hotelovia developer console.
- Sign in or create an account.
- Give the key a name that identifies its workload.
- Copy the
htl_live_…secret when it is shown.
Hotelovia stores only a SHA-256 hash. The plaintext secret cannot be recovered, so create a replacement if it is lost.
Keep keys on the server
Never put an API key in browser JavaScript, a mobile binary, source control, a URL, analytics, or logs. Store it in a secrets manager or server environment variable.
What the data is, and is not#
API results are projections of public Hotelovia directory listings, built from Google Maps.
- Hotelovia is not a booking site: no availability, no prices, no reservations and no payment. A stay is arranged with the place itself.
- Ratings and review counts are Google's. Hotelovia does not rate, inspect or endorse a place.
- Details change. Confirm a phone number, an address or opening hours with the place before relying on it.
